Freemasons Support The Cart Shed

The Deputy Head of Freemasonry in Herefordshire, Graham King, together with Nick Swan our Charity member visited The Cart Shed, to see first-hand how the Cart Shed are utilising the Freemasons donation towards a new minibus. The Cart Shed activities is based in their woodland surrounding at Devereux Wotton, Northwest Herefordshire. The Charities environment enables individuals to overcome and accept episodes in their lives they find difficult to live with; such as a result of the loss of a partner or close friend, difficult working conditions, or poor health. Based around the teaching of traditional woodland skills The charity offers opportunities to individuals to try something new and to improve their well-being; to find friendships through a sense of belonging and a place of calm, in a supportive, caring environment.

The Cart Shed’s, Katie Eastaugh said “Herefordshire is one of the country’s most rurally dispersed counties. Many of those we work with cannot afford their own transport, so being able to offer transport means those who need the support we offer, can access it freely. The new 9-seater minibus, which the Freemasons so kindly helped to fund, allows us to run two bus routes every day one south to Hereford, the other east and north to Leominster and Kington.”

The Cart Shed are also looking for volunteers to help with their work. If you can spare some time on a regular basis then please contact Katie at the Cart Shed or visit their website https://thecartshed.co.uk/
