We welcome enquiries from people who might be interested in joining Freemasonry. If you think Freemasonry in Herefordshire might be for you, then we’d be very pleased to have a chat.
If you know someone who is a Freemason in Herefordshire, go and have a chat. Most Freemasons would welcome talking to you about their lodge and helping you either join them or find a more suitable lodge that matches your personal and working life.
If you don’t know anyone who is a member that you can talk to, then contact our membership team, who will be in touch to discuss your interest and put you in touch with a suitable lodge in your area.
There are only three requirements to becoming a Freemason.
Age
You must be at least 18 years old to join Freemasonry.
Character
You must be of good character with no criminal record.
Belief
You must believe in a supreme being. We won’t ask about religion.
Candidates Charter
Our Pledge to You
- We will respond to every enquiry we receive.
- Within seven days of receiving your enquiry to join Freemasonry, our Membership Team will be in touch with you.
- Within three months of your initial enquiry, we will meet with you to talk more about your application and answer any questions you might have.
- We will then complete our internal processes and inform you of the way forward.
- The next stage of your application will be to place you with an appropriate Lodge.
- Within four months of your initial enquiry, we will arrange a meeting for you with members of your prospective Lodge.
- Providing both you and the Lodge are happy and wish to proceed. Within twelve months of your initial enquiry, you will be initiated into Freemasonry.
