The Province of Herefordshire is currently in a Festival, which is a five-year fundraising programme in favour of a Masonic Charity. Our Festival commenced in 2015, and will culminate in 2020.
The Festival was set up to raise funds for the Masonic Samaritan Fund, which, besides supporting members and their families in time of need, also makes substantial grants for public causes, especially medical research. Although the Masonic Samaritan Fund has since been subsumed into the Masonic Charitable Foundation, the new charity which has taken on the activities of the formerly separate Masonic charities, funds raised will be ring-fenced and applied for the same purposes as those covered by the Masonic Samaritan Fund.
Our late Provincial Grand Master, The Revd David Bowen, seta target of £300,000 to be raised over the five year period. A wide range of activities have been held to help raise this amount, but its success depends on the continued generosity of members. A continued effort along these lines should ensure that the target is reached, as long as the momentum is maintained.
You can find out more about the Festival on the attached leaflet here.
